I absolutely adore Halloween! It’s different every year, but whether it’s dressing up and going out or staying in and watching scary movies all night, I just can’t get enough of it. It’s always so much fun and this year, my friend and I had something a bit different – and extra girly – planned. Spooky afternoon tea at the pink paradise that is Peggy Porschen’s.
Honestly, one day when I have kids I will obnoxiously dress them up as pumpkins and take them trick or treating and go to Halloween parties with my husband dressed as Star Wars characters. But until that happens, we have edible flowers, orange blossom Prosecco and friendly ghost cupcakes. π
The sandwiches from left to right are egg and mayonnaise; honey roast ham and cheese; smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill; coronation chicken; and cucumber and mint.
Then there are plain and fruit scones, two French macarons (both lovely – one was pistachio and the other we couldn’t pin down the flavour), chocolate cupcakes with little baby ghosts on them, as well as the adorable little ghost biscuits that were almost too cute to eat. π₯Ί
Just look at them. π
But I can confirm I did eat them and they were yummy. π
Full to the brim and with a couple of cakes to take home, we made our way across the city to Canary Wharf, to the Don’t Cry Over Spilt Milk exhibition. We struggled to find it at first but it was literally staring at us the whole time in Canada Place.
I also picked up this gorgeous coat from Mango. I’ve wanted a coat like this for years, I watched Balto on repeat as a child and coats like this just give me Rosy vibes. π₯Ί
Back to the exhibition, it was filled with neon lights, dried flowers and neat slogans. And special mention to the see-saw, which got maybe too much action that day. π
Here were some of my favourites.
We weren’t quite ready to go home so swung by The Alchemist for cocktails (get the Cherry Poppins) and shout out to the bartender who wouldn’t give up in blowing the perfect bubble for us when his bubble gun wouldn’t work. π
We ended the night with cheese fries from Shake Shack and planning fun festive things to do in London. Some might say it’s too soon but for me, once Halloween is over I start getting into full-on Christmas mode.
And I’ve never been so ready for it as I am this year. π₯°
